Freedom Boat Club Jacksonville has added a new addition to its fleet, the Freedom Boat Cart.
The boat cart is a golf cart outfitted with a mold that makes it look exactly like a center console fishing boat. It is complete with a swim platform on the back, cushions and cleats on the bow, and a classic boat T-top. The creation of the Freedom Boat Cart was years in the making for Lisa “The Boatanista” Almeida. She originally saw one on the internet in 2014 but had no luck connecting with the creator of the mold. She finally reached them and was able to connect the molds with the owner of Melissa’s Golf Carts who creates custom-designed golf carts, and the Freedom Boat Cart was born.
The Freedom Boat Cart joins the fleet which includes the Freedom Boat Club Seadan, a street legal boat-car which is an 18-foot Seasprite mounted on the frame of a 1994 Nissan Sentra. The Freedom Boat desk is an 8-foot, handcrafted vessel created by Al Kinard. It is complete with drawers, cleats and even a fully functional bow light.
Captain Sandy Yawn of Bravo’s Below Deck and Below Deck Mediterranean recently had a chance to climb aboard the vessel for a ride around Beach Marine, the headquarters of Freedom Boat Club Jacksonville and the home to the Freedom Boat Cart. The Freedom Boat Cart will be available for fundraisers and events. It will be participating in St. Augustine’s Easter Parade on April 8 and in the Opening of the Beaches Parade through Jacksonville Beach on April 30. Those interested in having the Freedom Boat Club as a part of their event can contact Lisa Almeida at [email protected] or (904) 588-2417.
