Habitat for Humanity of Jacksonville, Inc. (HabiJax) has announced it will dedicate more than 20 homes to individuals and families in New Town today, Friday, May 29, at Milne Auditorium on the campus of Edward Waters College, 1658 Kings Road in Jacksonville. The dedication will begin at 3 p.m. for homebuyers, volunteers, home build sponsors and the public.
During its 27 years of building communities with its partners, HabiJax has improved the city of Jacksonville with high-quality affordable homes and enhanced neighborhoods, providing a better quality of life for homeowners and their children in five areas of the Urban Core of Jacksonville.
“We invite everyone to celebrate the dedication of the homes with HabiJax and the many well-deserving and hardworking homeowners, volunteers and sponsors who assist in making HabiJax builds possible,” said Mary Kay O’Rourke, president and CEO of HabiJax. “This is an exciting time for our city and we are proud of the growth within New Town.”
To make a greater impact on the revitalization of Jacksonville neighborhoods, HabiJax has committed to the enhancement of the New Town community and is a partner in the New Town Success Zone. HabiJax committed to a $16 million capital campaign to complete more than 400 homeownership and rehabilitation projects and are on track to meet its goal.
