Honorees Selected for Jacksonville’s Finest Presented by Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

May 31st, 2013 · Leave a Comment

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of North Florida (CFF), has selected its honorees for this year’s Jacksonville’s Finest, the popular event previously known as Single Greatest Night. Forty men and women between the ages of 21 and 39 will be recognized for their leadership qualities, being active in the First Coast community, excelling in business and helping to make a difference in the fight to cure cystic fibrosis. Honorees will be recognized at the Jacksonville’s Finest black-tie optional dinner and reception on Saturday, June 22 at the Omni Jacksonville Hotel.

Each honoree has committed to raising a minimum of $1,500 for cystic fibrosis (CF) medical research through individual and group fundraising efforts leading up to the event. Donations to support individual honorees in meeting their fundraising goals can be made online at http://nfl.cff.org. More than $1 million has been raised for the Foundation through this event since 1997.

The event begins at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception featuring a signature drink, “The Cure,” followed by a plated dinner. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment by “The River Town Band” and a silent auction. The event is open to the public and tickets are $75 per person. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.  All net proceeds benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

This is a historic time in the fight against cystic fibrosis. Promising therapies that treat the underlying cause of CF, rather than just the symptoms, are in late-stage clinical trials. If successful, these drugs could change the face of the disease and the prognosis for those who suffer from it. Because of the Foundation and the funds it raises, people with CF are living longer and healthier lives. The outlook for people with cystic fibrosis continues to improve, year after year.
