May 12th, 2010 · Leave a Comment

St. Augustine has earned another top city honor. The nation’s oldest city has been named as one of the Top 100 Places to Live in the country by RelocateAmerica.com.

This is the 13th year the company has compiled a list of the best places to live in the U.S. The website noted St. Augustine’s preservation efforts, historic tourist attractions, waterways, long histories, major employers and varied lifestyles as attributes of the community.

In defining the top 100 cities, RelocateAmerica focused on communities poised for future growth through strong local leadership, employment opportunities, thriving community commitment, improving real estate markets, growing green initiatives, plentiful recreation opportunities and an overall high quality of life.

St. Augustine was among four Florida cities in the top 100. The others were Oviedo, Sarasota and Tampa.

The top 10 cities on the list are:

  • Huntsville, Ala.
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Austin
  • San Diego
  • San Antonio
  • Tulsa
  • Charlotte
  • Raleigh
  • Boulder
  • Minneapolis

St. Augustine was also recently listed as one of the 10 Best Places to Live in the country by U.S. News & World Report and recognized by USA Today as a top draw for vacationing and second-home golfers.

Congratulations to St. Augustine for being one of the top places to live in the country!
