Today is the day! All over the country and right here in Northeast Florida citizens are heading to the polls to vote. Every election is an important one and every vote counts so make sure you get to your local polling station today and make your voice heard!

The Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce’s  political action committee, JAXBIZ,  a nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization that promotes business friendly leadership within local and state government, endorses and supports candidates who support the Chamber’s mission to drive quality economic growth in Northeast Florida.  The committee thoroughly examined the potential impact of Amendment 4 and recommended candidates in  seven different races who oppose it.  Here’s a list of who they recommend:

LEGISLATIVE 

• State Senator, District Eight – John Thrasher REP
• State Representative, District 15 – Reggie Fullwood DEM
•  State Representative, District 16 – Charles McBurney REP
• State Representative, District 17 – Lake Ray REP
•  State Representative, District 18 – Ronald “Doc” Renuart REP
• State Representative, District 19 – Michael Weinstein REP

NONPARTISAN SCHOOL BOARD

• School Board Member, District 2 – Fred “Fel” Lee

The Chamber also recommends voting NO on Amendment 4.
