MBF’s A Night at Roy’s – 5/2/18

April 1st, 2018 · Leave a Comment

In 2017, ‘A Night at Roy’s raised $55,000 for the Monique Burr Foundation for Children. During the event, UNF Kappa Delta Sorority members presented the ceremonial check to MBF founder Edward Burr.

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF) will host its annual “A Night at Roy’s” event, featuring gourmet cuisine, fabulous wines, tropical cocktails, live music, and a live and silent auction on Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. One of Northeast Florida’s most widely attended charity events, James Beard Award Winner and world-renowned chef Roy Yamaguchi will once again thrill the crowd by offering guests contemporary Hawaiian-influenced gourmet cuisine. Last year’s event was an enormous success with more than 400 attendees and $55,000 raised to help keep children and teens safe through the MBF Child Safety Matters™ Prevention Education Series. These primary prevention programs address the most common types of victimization experienced by children and young adults, including bullying, abuse, digital dangers, and more.

A Night at Roy’s is not just a fun event – it raises funds that are vital to the work of MBF, a Jacksonville-based nonprofit organization. With support from the community, MBF has reached more than 2 million students in six years and the nonprofit hopes to reach every student in the United States. Every dollar donated will go toward funding MBF and its signature, research-based programs – MBF Child Safety Matters™ and MBF Teen Safety Matters™.

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children (MBF) is a nonprofit organization started by Edward E. Burr in 1997 on the one-year anniversary of the death of Monique Burr, his late wife, to continue her legacy of child protection and child advocacy.

A Night at Roy’s will be held at Roy’s Restaurant, 2400 3rd Street South, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250, and tickets are $100. For more information, or to purchase a ticket, please visit www.anightatroys.com or call 904.642.0210.
