Jax Metro, a division of Self-Help Credit Union, announces the official opening of its newly constructed, full service branch in the River City Marketplace, located at 13134 Wolf Bay Drive, Jacksonville.
On Monday, March 15, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Self-Help will host a virtual celebration featuring an online tour of the facility on each of its social media platforms. The first 50 vehicles through its drive-thru will receive an opening gift.
The new branch brings added functionality and convenience to the North Jacksonville community, with the added value of being backed by one of the largest community development financial institutions in the country. Services available at this branch include checking and savings accounts, home mortgage loans, auto and personal loans, check cashing and depositing, and small business loans.
The site, at northwest Airport Center and Wolf Bay Drives at River City Marketplace, will also include a drive-up ATM and a video teller. The 2,353-square-foot building sits on 1.05 acres. There is also a free electric vehicle charging station available.
Self-Help’s mission is to broaden homeownership and economic opportunity among underserved communities, including women, people of color and low minimum wage families, by providing access to basic financial services and products, including mortgages for first-time home buyers and commercial loans for small businesses.
Located in North Jacksonville, the River City Marketplace is an open-air town center located near the Jacksonville International Airport. The new branch design was developed by Dunn and Dalton Architects, a North Carolina based firm known for “cost effective design solutions that are functional and aesthetically pleasing,” as well as for being “flexible in their approach to design.” Construction was completed by the Jacksonville based, Breaking Ground Contracting, a woman-owned enterprise that is a recognized leader in sustainable construction and for their commitment to environmentally conscious construction.
