JAXBIZ Announces Endorsements for Sherriff, Tax Collector and City Council

JAXBIZ, the political arm of the Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce, announced its endorsements for Sheriff, Tax Collector and City Council races in Jacksonville’s spring 2011 elections.  JAXBIZ will announce its endorsement for Mayor on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

JAXBIZ endorsed the following candidates:

  • John Rutherford for Sheriff
  • Michael Corrigan for Tax Collector
  • Lindsey Brock for City Council District 1
  • Bill Bishop for City Council District 2
  • Richard Clark for City Council District 3
  • Don Redman for City Council District 4
  • Lori Boyer for City Council District 5
  • Jack Webb for City Council District
  • Johnny A. Gaffney for City Council District 7
  • Ray Holt for City Council District 11
  • Doyle Carter for City Council District 12
  • William “Bill” Gulliford for City Council District 13
  • Jill Dame for City Council District 14
  • David Taylor for At-Large Group 1
  • Co-endorsement of Paul Martinez and Tom Patton for At-Large Group 2
  • Stephen Joost for At-Large Group 3
  • Jim Robinson for At-Large Group 4
  • Sean Hall for At-Large Group 5

Jacksonville’s primary election is scheduled for March 22 with the general election on May 17.  Check back in at www.WhatsUpJacksonville.com on Wednesday for more endorsement news!
