MBF Child Safety Matters

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. will host “A Night at Roy’s” to benefit MBF Child Safety Matters™, a research–based, bullying and child abuse prevention education program. The event will take place on Wednesday, May 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Roy’s Restaurant in Jacksonville Beach.

“This annual event is important to continue the work of our foundation,” said Lynn Layton, executive director of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children. “We raise the funds needed to provide MBF Child Safety Matters™ to every K-6 elementary student in our area. In order to learn, children need to feel safe and our program helps them to understand 5 Safety Rules and the importance of telling Safe Adults if they don’t feel safe.”

Guests at the event will enjoy contemporary, Hawaiian-influenced, gourmet cuisine by world-renowned chef, Roy Yamaguchi. In addition to dinner, fine wines and tropical drinks, provided by Southern Wine and Spirits, will be available throughout the evening.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Colleen Orender from Nashville, TN and Mack and Jack Hazel and Jack Rosa, local rising young stars, will also be performing.

Advance ticket purchase is recommended; tickets are available for $100 per person by visiting the Monique Burr Foundation website. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Call the Monique Burr Foundation at 904-642-0210 for more information.
