The election is over, so now what? NAIOP of Northeast Florida (NAIOP) Developing Leaders, the young professional council of the commercial real estate development association, will host a Year End Economic Wrap Up luncheon on Nov. 14 at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. The event will feature special guest speaker Dr. Paul Mason, distinguished professor from the Coggin College of Business at the University of North Florida (UNF). Mason will discuss health of the local economy and the implications of the presidential election on the future of Northeast Florida’s economy.
Dr. Mason is the Richard de Raismes Kip Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics and Geography at UNF. He completed his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Texas and taught at Southwest Texas State University and Clemson University before coming to University of North Florida in 1985. Dr. Mason is the faculty director of the LEIP (Local Economic Indicator Project) program that provides a local consumer price index (CPI), index of leading indicators, stock price index and seasonality adjustments to local unemployment rates
The program is open to the public. Registration and networking will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed by lunch at noon. The program will conclude by 1:30 p.m. The cost to attend is $25 for NAIOP members and $40 for non-members before Nov. 8. After Nov. 8, member and non-members rates increase by $5.
