Proving entrepreneurs can get access to capital outside of Silicon Valley, PS27 Ventures announced last week the PS27 Rhea Fund, a 20 million dollar venture capital fund focused on early-stage technology companies.
This new fund is seeking to invest in SaaS, HealthTech, FinTech, Sustainability, and E-Commerce and in companies that can scale rapidly online via Amazon, Shopify, or Google Market platforms.
PS27 Ventures was founded by Jim Stallings in 2013, a former IBM executive and U.S. Marine Captain. Rhea will be the first fund in Florida led by an African-American Veteran.
“We are seeing a wave of new innovations emerge in response to what we experienced in the COVID-19 lockdown. Businesses have adapted and changed and so have our lifestyles and work routines. Through our connections to universities, accelerators, and our investor network, we are reviewing record numbers of investment opportunities and new business startups this year. Seeing this dramatic growth, we decided to launch the Rhea Fund to accelerate these innovations and allow our limited partners an opportunity to invest in the future,” said Jim Stallings, CEO at PS27 Ventures. “As with our first fund, PS27 will continue to offer a unique, hands-on approach to grow our portfolio companies by providing our founders with resources to become successful leaders.”
PS27 has announced its first investment in levAR, a SaaS company disrupting the augmented reality industry.
PS27 has curated a global network of experts in business strategy, financial analysis, sales, marketing, and lean startup methodology. PS27’s team of problem-solvers take a hands-on approach, helping startups anticipate, prioritize, and ultimately achieve success. PS27 companies leverage innovation and disruptive technology to remain agile and gain share. We invest in opportunities that can scale rapidly. The Rhea Fund team works closely with founders as a strategic partner to develop a go-to-market strategy with sales discipline and key performance metrics.
