New construction homes in St. Johns County and the possible increase in housing prices because of rising material and labor costs is the focus of a story in today’s St. Augustine Record.
Reporter Stuart Korfhage gets local reaction to the National Association of Home Builders/Wells Fargo Housing Market Index report that builders, despite being optimistic about housing market conditions, believe several factors are going to increase costs for new homes.
Chris Shee, owner of MasterCraft Builder Group, was interviewed. MasterCraft operates entirely in St. Johns County and builds homes in several different price points.
In addition to higher prices for materials and labor, Shee also cites the recent hike to impact fees.
