The Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass, highlighted by the world famous 17th island green, will again challenge the game’s best during the tournament, May 9-15. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to take their shot at hitting the green at No. 17 via the PwC First Tee Challenge, a scaled down replica of the iconic par-3, located in the JELD-WEN Stadium Village. Each fan will have two free shots to try and hit the green to win prizes and an option to purchase a third shot for $5 with proceeds benefiting The First Tee.
Also new to THE PLAYERS this year, May 10 will officially be “The First Tee Tuesday,” highlighting the tournament’s relationship with The First Tee – a World Golf Foundation initiative dedicated to impacting the lives of young people through the game of golf. There will be an area for youth with a fun-filled day of activities, including a clinic with renowned trick-shot artist Dennis Walters. Youth 18 and younger get in to the tournament for free with a ticketed adult.
In conjunction with The First Tee Tuesday, a young golf enthusiast will be given the chance to design the cover for the Pairings Guide, which will be distributed throughout the tournament grounds on May 10. One winner will be selected to have his or her art featured on the cover of the Pairings Guide for the Tuesday Practice Round, and all finalists’ entries will be displayed throughout the tournament week at JELD-WEN Stadium Village. Along with their artwork being displayed on the cover of the Pairings Guide, the winning individual will receive four grounds tickets to The First Tee Tuesday at THE PLAYERS, a PLAYERS gift bag and a behind the scenes tour.
Stay tuned for more PLAYERS updates as we enter the final stretch before the tournament!
