The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital has named Ashley Helmick as its new director. Helmick will start in her new role on August 28, 2023.

Before accepting the position with Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Helmick served as the associate director of development for the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law. Prior to that, she served as assistant director of alumni engagement at the University of North Florida for two years and in other philanthropy-focused leadership roles in the community.

Helmick received her Bachelor of Science degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management from Clemson University in South Carolina and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration at the University of North Florida.

A frontline fundraiser with a focus on community, service and partnership opportunities, Helmick has served on the Episcopal School of Jacksonville Alumni Board since 2016. She has previously served on the board of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Red Shoe Crew and was a member of The Women’s Board for eight years.

In her role as director of The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Helmick will help lead the all-volunteer organization, whose mission is to further community awareness of the services and facilities of Wolfson Children’s Hospital and to raise funds to ensure the best health care for each and every child who comes through the hospital’s doors. Included in her work is supporting fundraising events including the long-standing annual Florida Forum speaker series and the First Coast Design Show.

Helmick said: “It is an incredible honor to serve as the next director of The Women’s Board and I look forward to continuing the amazing work done through this organization for the children of our community. I am thankful for the leadership in the hospital and volunteers that will allow us to work together to further our mission.”

“The Women’s Board is pleased to welcome Ashley Helmick as our new Director. As a Women’s Board member and volunteer, Ashley brings a heartfelt enthusiasm for our mission with a direct understanding of our organization. She is a collaborative leader committed to our community. Ashley’s knowledge and experience in volunteer and event management, donor relations, and community engagement aligns strongly with our strategic goals as we move forward,” said Kendra McCrary, president of The Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital.

Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, president of Wolfson Children’s Hospital said, “Ashley has a wealth of experience in fundraising roles and a robust portfolio of relationships that have led to major support throughout her career. This will translate directly into her role with The Women’s Board, whose volunteer-members have dedicated themselves to supporting Wolfson Children’s Hospital and the services we provide for more than 50 years. We welcome Ashley to our leadership team.”
