Old San Jose on the River, the riverfront community on San Jose Boulevard near Jacksonville’s historic San Marco, has officially opened its luxury amenities center and has unveiled a new site plan for single-family homes, which will allow for 26 single-family residences to be built and sold in the community, five of which will be waterfront home sites with private docks.

Governor Rick Scott met with community leaders and supporters at a private function at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Village following the first round of play at THE PLAYERS last Thursday. More than 2,000 guests joined The Boselli Foundation on Friday night for THE CUT, part of The Lot parties at TPC Sawgrass. The Lot, which was located just outside the Nicklaus Gate in Parking Lot 11 off of CR210, was the newest high-end entertainment venue at THE PLAYERS and hosted parties benefitting various local charities throughout tournament week. Guests of THE CUT enjoyed dinner by Bono's, drinks and live entertainment with Jacksonville locals Charlie Walker and Ryan Campbell and headlining band Sister Hazel.

On Thursday, YMCA of Florida’s First Coast hosted “The After Par-Tee”at The Lot, a new high-end hospitality venue at The PLAYERS. The event featured a Mardi Gras theme complete with live music from The New Orleans Suspects. Proceeds from the event will enable the YMCA to send children from underserved communities to summer camps across the First Coast to help prevent summer learning loss.

This year, THE PLAYERS is unveiling “The Lot,” located just outside the Nicklaus Gate in Parking Lot 11 off of CR210. Wednesday through Saturday of tournament week, different organizations will be hosting parties and functions to extend the fun for fans, and raise money for great local causes in the process.

Wednesday marked the official opening of the Patriots’ Outpost on Military Appreciation Day during THE PLAYERS. The event began with a special presentation of a TPC Boston membership to wounded warrior Michael McCombs. As part of the PGA TOUR’s six-year relationship with Wounded Warrior Project, each TPC in the network extends a complimentary membership to a local wounded warrior to use golf and the club camaraderie as a rehabilitation tool.

On Wednesday, the PGA Tour Wives Association (PTWA) and THE PLAYERS hosted children and families from Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Community PedsCare for a fun-filled, Hawaiian-themed morning at the Stadium Village. Approximately 50 families attended the event, which included activities like arts and crafts, face painting and a visit from zoo animals courtesy of the Jacksonville Zoo. During the event, THE PLAYERS presented Community PedsCare with a check for $30,000.
