March 5th, 2012 · Leave a Comment

Homelessness is an issue that impacts us all. To engage the community, the JAX Chamber is hosting a public policy forum and inviting the public to be part of the conversation.

Hosted by the Arlington and Downtown councils, “Solutions for Homelessness – Why Businesses Should Care” will take place from 7:30 to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, at The University Club in downtown Jacksonville.

The forum will be moderated by Dawn Gilman of the Florida Coalition for the Homeless. The panelists, Elaine Spencer of the Mayor’s Homeless Task Force, Terry Lorince of Downtown Vision, Jacksonville Sheriff John Rutherford and Cindy Funkhouser of the Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless, will discuss potential solutions.

The cost to attend is $12 for Chamber members and $20 for nonmembers with advance online registration by 5 p.m. Tuesday, March 6. Parking validation is included with admission. Online registration is available here.

Walk-ups are welcome, space permitting. The cost to pay at the door with cash, check or credit card is $17 for Chamber members and $25 for nonmembers.

It is important that we work together for a better community. We hope to see you at this program!
