Shannon Nazworth, President & CEO of Ability Housing, has been selected as Multifamily Executive magazine’s “Executive of the Year” for 2020.

Every year, Multifamily Executive magazine honors the best and brightest in the multifamily housing industry through its MFE Awards, a program that celebrated its 19th year in 2020.

Nazworth’s selection celebrates her role in expanding the nonprofit organization’s impact. Since she joined Ability Housing in 2003, the organization’s portfolio has grown from one group home and 15 scattered-site homes, to more than 700 units of housing across Northeast and Central Florida.

In 2019 alone, she led seven multifamily projects in various stages of development, valued at more than $93 million. Nazworth is also active in advocacy and housing policy development; in 2018, the organization released “The Solution That Saves,” a state pilot that has since influenced housing policies at the local, state and federal level.

“This award is really for the entire Ability Housing team. As the CEO, I am blessed to have a phenomenal group of community volunteers for a board and a great group of dedicated, hard-working and passionate people as my co-workers. This award reflects the cumulative impact of many years of hard work by several people. I want to thank all of our community partners that helped make it possible,” said Nazworth. “I am grateful to work alongside a group of people committed to building strong communities where everyone has a home.”
