Stacy Pendarvis Joins the Monique Burr Foundation for Children

The Monique Burr Foundation for Children, Inc. recently welcomed Stacy Pendarvis as program manager for North Florida. Pendarvis has more than 15 years experience working for a variety of agencies in child and family services and child abuse prevention. She will help carry out the organization’s mission to make a positive impact on the community, create change in the lives of families lives and give hope in the life of a child by providing safety and child abuse prevention education to all elementary school children in the state of Florida by 2015.

In 2010, the Monique Burr Foundation reached more than 19,000 children in Northeast Florida and the Tampa Bay area with Speak Up Be SafeTM, a child abuse prevention education program that addresses safety from all forms of child abuse, bullying and internet dangers, and provides tools for parents and school personnel. The program is in the process of expanding state-wide as a collaborative effort with the Office of the Governor of the State of Florida, the State Department of Education, the State Department of Health, the Florida Department of Children and Families, Ounce of Prevention and other sponsors and partners.
