Stellar Announces Renovations to Jacksonville HQ

Stellar, an integrated design-build firm, is excited to announce a substantial investment in revitalizing its Jacksonville campus as part of its ongoing commitment to employee well-being. The headquarters renovations include state-of-the-art improvements to office work environments and a new on-campus nutrition, fitness and wellness center.

“Our focus is on employee engagement and welfare throughout our campus improvement efforts,” said Brian Kappele, Chief Executive Officer. “At Stellar, we believe creating a positive work environment is crucial for achieving success.”

The planned Stellar Nutrition Center will span over 6,500 square feet and promote healthy eating choices for employees throughout the workday. It will offer complimentary food and beverages, from fresh smoothies to hot meals. The center will also serve as a social hub for coworkers across different business units, providing a casual setting for department gatherings and interactions. The Nutrition Center is scheduled to open in April 2024.

A new two-story Fitness & Wellness Center has been meticulously designed to redefine the nearly 40-year-old company’s approach to health and well-being. With this new addition, Stellar aims to foster an environment that encourages and supports healthy habits, offering a comprehensive range of cardio equipment, designated spaces for commercial gym free weights, specialized areas for heavy lifting and Olympic-style workouts, High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) rooms, and access to certified trainers.

The facilities will incorporate a range of amenities to enhance post-workout recovery and promote comfort and privacy for individuals. These features include, but are not limited to, saunas and cold plunge pools designed to alleviate muscle tension and promote relaxation. Further enhancements to the Hartley Road campus include outdoor walking zones, pickleball and basketball courts, obstacle courses, and additional amenities to encourage physical fitness.

“Stellar’s investment in employee amenities reinforces our commitment to a workplace that supports individual well-being and collective success. We are dedicated to fostering an environment that recognizes our talented people as the driving force behind our greatness,” said Stacey King, Chief Human Resources Officer.

Construction of the Fitness & Wellness Center is scheduled to complete by October 2024.

Stellar’s renovation goal is to provide employees with a modernized workspace to enhance their productivity, minimize distractions, and provide them with individual private offices. Additional updates will ensure employees have the necessary resources and environment to perform at their best, including significant improvements in sound transmission, dimmable energy-efficient LED lighting, occupancy sensors, solar window shading, and ergonomic office workstations. The company will also make technology improvements throughout the campus, such as dedicated soundproof meeting and conference rooms that allow for informal and formal collaboration.

Stellar will manage the construction and is partnering with Kasper Architects to create a modern space that reflects the company’s commitment to creating a work environment where creativity, productivity and employee satisfaction thrive. These additional office renovations are scheduled to begin in April 2024.

“This isn’t just an investment in physical infrastructure,” said Kappele. “It’s a continued commitment to our most valuable asset — our people.”
