THE PLAYERS Championship welcomed active duty, Reserve, retired military, veterans, and military spouses to TPC Sawgrass to participate in its second-annual job fair, in partnership with the Jacksonville Military Veterans Coalition. The Military Job Fair was a free event open to veterans and, for the first time, military spouses seeking employment, as well as more information on local educational institutions with veterans’ programs, career counseling and resume-writing assistance.
Mayor Alvin Brown and Liz Peak
Mayor Alvin Brown stopped by the event to welcome military job seekers and to show appreciation for companies who are committed to helping put retired service men and women to work.
The first-ever PLAYERS Military Veterans Job Fair in 2012 saw attendance of more than 500 military job seekers and 21 companies participating. Following the success of last year’s event, this year’s job fair doubled in size in both participating companies and attendees. The Military Job Fair is one of several military initiatives and events put on by THE PLAYERS.
