NAIOP of Northeast Florida, the region’s commercial real estate authority and trade association, and Urban Land Institute (ULI) North Florida will host a joint luncheon event on Sept. 29 featuring guest speaker Gray Swoope, Florida’s Secretary of Commerce and president and CEO of Enterprise Florida Inc. The event, presented by Holland and Knight, will start at 11:30 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront and is open to the public. Tickets are $25 for NAIOP and ULI members and $40 for non-members.

As Florida’s new Secretary of Commerce and CEO of Enterprise Florida Inc., Swoope is based in Orlando and Tallahassee, where he works closely with Gov. Rick Scott. Swoope’s proximity to the governor is vital to his focus on job creation, business recruitment to Florida and improving the state’s economic growth and prosperity. Prior to joining Enterprise Florida, Swoope served as the executive director of the Mississippi Development Authority, reporting directly to Gov. Haley Barbour. Swoope has a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree from Mississippi State University.
